Project / Foundations
2 metre deep foundations.
Residential foundation excavation and spoil movement with operated mini excavators and tracked dumpers.
Project overview
Making space for the foundations.
This residential project involved excavation for foundations approximately 2 metres deep. The photographs show the progression of the dig and the machinery used to remove spoil from a constrained working area.
The excavation sat close to an existing property, so working space and material movement were central to the approach.

Ground protection
Boarded out for wet weather.
We board out the working area and access routes in wet conditions, giving our diggers and dumpers a protected surface to travel over. This helps reduce mud being tracked around the site and ruts forming in the ground.
With the floor area of the dig boarded out, we can keep work moving through wet weather where site conditions allow.

Project approach
The job calls for more than digging.
Excavation has to account for the space to operate, how material leaves the work area and the next construction stage. We discuss those details before starting so the plant and sequence suit the site.
